I actually have no idea which is more popular, I don't really know anything about that Splatoon fan community. I kinda assumed based on what Leon said that Marie was the more popular one, is she not? She's definitely the less appealing of the two to me. She'd be cool looking if they made her tentacle hair black or her dress and boots white, her design's kind of a mess compared to her sister. And her droopy face makes her look pretty boring. Callie's really nicely designed though. It definitely looks like they designed her first and then just made a quick edit to give her a sister, which is a shame. That said, I do like Marie's hairstyle a lot. That's pretty cool. Marie is meant to look more like a dignified lady, compared to Callie who's more childish and energetic. |

No, I would legitimately be in favor of having amiibo for those guys too. They seem to be forgotten already.
Granted, they're just shopkeepers, but they still really stood out in one way or another.

Marie is meant to look more like a dignified lady, compared to Callie who's more childish and energetic. No, I get that, I just think they didn't pull it off well. The droopy face just makes her give off a sleepy and disinterested vibe, rather than a classy and elegant one, which I figure is what they were going for. The mismatched hair and dress colours would probably be fine if she was alone, but they make her stick out like a sore thumb next to her colour-coordinated sister. But, y'know, this is just my opinion. Not everybody's gonna subscribe to my philosophies on character design. I would be interested to know which if the two is more popular though, that's a pretty good yardstick of how successful their designs are. And if they made amiibos of the shopkeepers, I would buy them in a second. Those are some of the best-looking characters in the game. |

Love the fact that even the silhouette of the rabbit/Bato really does make him look like an Inkling girl.   Why can't Splatoon have more Nintendo related clothing options? Or even Nintendo making some lower tier character crossover franchise that's not Smash? |
