The latest Granzella stream didn't seem to reveal much new about the Final 3 update. However, they did officially announce remakes of R-Type Tactics I & II:
Both Tactics games were originally released on PSP, and only the first one was officially localized into English as R-Type Command. I think there's a fan translation of the second one. It's likely these will be released in English, as well, since they had an English version of the slide.
I'm definitely interested in this.

New trailer!
So, first of all, the release date has been moved up to July 29! That's two months earlier than the original release window.
We also get a good look at the combat system. It seems to resemble XC2's in interface, but there can be up to seven(!) active characters in the party at once. There are the six main characters previously introduced, but a seventh can be seen in certain parts. There are characters named Zeon and Valdi, and at one point, the two nopon, Riku and Manana, are part of the party functioning as a single character.
And speaking of which, there is a mechanic where two characters can merge into a single form. It seems to be a temporary state, however.
I also noticed that the characters' outfits change a little bit. We saw this in the original trailer, where the main cast had two different outfits, but it could've been the case this was just story related. However, now we see glimpses that suggest there may be more detailed customization like in the original Xenoblade Chronicles. (eg. Noah with a white shirt and red scarf at 2:13, Mio wearing a red jacket just after that, etc.)
Can't wait!
EDIT: Actually, I wonder if Mio with a red jacket is related to her ability to merge with Noah...
EDIT 2: I'm seeing people point out that the characters are swapping clothes and weapons, so it must have something to do with the partner system.
EDIT 3: Apparently, it's part of changing classes. Makes sense. Noah was wearing Taion's jacket and scarf, and Mio was wearing Noah's jacket.

Update on the Saudi SNK buyout: the Mohammed bin Salmon Foundation now owns 96.18 percent of shares in the company. That's a lot more than the 51 percent initially reported.

And it's been delayed until Spring 2023.
Disappointing, but I'll be busy with Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (*Assuming it doesn't get delayed, also.), so I'm good. I have confidence in the Zelda team, so I know this is for the best.
I'm excited that Aonuma says the world goes beyond the land and sky. Could that mean underwater exploration, too? Maybe even outer space?? Other realms (ie. Dark World, Twilight Realm, etc)?? He's going to set my expectations too high!

Bump! Wow, this game has been in development a long time.
Freedom Planet 2 finally has a release date of September 13, and it will be multi-platform day one.
Definitely looking forward to this, but why does it have to be the same month as Xenoblade Chronicles 3?

So, for their 40th anniversary, Falcom held a poll in Japan on fans' favorite games and characters. They revealed the results on a live stream. You can see the results here. My comments: Not surprised about Lacrimosa of Dana and Monstrum Nox placing so high for favorite Ys game, but Ys II is the second-favorite? Really? Surprising, especially since Ys I ranks so low... I'm also surprised that Rean Schwarzer is the favorite character. I usually hear people say he was a little bland. Not surprised about Adol and Estelle Bright, though. Even though Trails in the Sky didn't click with me, Estelle was still a standout JRPG protagonist. But no Yunica Tovah in the top 20? Shenanigans! I demand a recount! As for games you'd like to see on current consoles, this is an interesting list. It includes Zwei II, the only game in these lists not part of Ys or Legend of Heroes. (At least the Gagharv Trilogy isn't directly part of Trails.) Not sure what I would pick. Xanadu Next is under-appreciated, in my opinion, so maybe that. That is, aside from putting every other Ys game on Switch.

The hotel that was converted from Nintendo's old HQ isn't quite open yet, but here's a really good tour of the inside. It has a lot of cool little nods to the building's legacy.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection was announced during Sony's State of Play a couple of days ago, but it's coming to all platforms. Trailer: Press releaseContains all of Konami's older TMNT games, including both arcades games, four NES games, two SNES games, two Genesis/Mega Drive games, and three Game Boy games, plus both Western and Japanese version where available. Online multiplayer is also available, but only for four titles (the two arcade games, Hyperstone Heist, and the SNES version of Tournament Fighters). It's being developed by Digital Eclipse, who also worked on the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection, Mega Man Legacy Collection, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, Disney Afternoon Collection, and others. They seem more willing to revive old licensed games than most companies. I loved a lot of these games when I was young, so this is something for me to consider. The original arcade game, in particular, left a big impression on me and was one of my all-time favorite arcade games. It's strange, though, that only four games include online multiplayer.

So, now that the second stage pass is complete, I thought I would write an update on where the game is at right now. StagesWith the completion of the second stage pass, there are now more DLC homage stages than there are original stages in the main game (14 vs 11). While it hasn't been officially announced yet, it seems that there will be a third stage pass. Personally, I don't think the second stage pass was quite as good as the first. My favorites were the remakes of stage 3 from Image Fight and stage 4.0 from the first R-Type Final. Other stages felt a little dull and made me wonder why they were chosen to be included. There are also two stages based on R-Type Tactics II. The first is OK, but the second just feels redundant and unnecessary. Also, two of the stages include Easter eggs that only happen if you're playing on R-Typer difficulty or higher, and it's irritating that they gated them like that. ShipsThere are currently 97 ships included out of the first Final's 101. The only ships missing are the three Ultimate ships and Ragnarok II (which I guess they're treating as a de facto Ultimate ship). It seems that there will be more ships added after that. Data miners have found evidence of a ship based on the submarine from In the Hunt, which James Mielke jokingly asked about in that early interview from 2019, however it could also just be an enemy if a stage from In the Hunt in included in the third stage pass. Other UpdatesThe various other updates that were delayed from last year, including online leaderboards, branching stages in the main game, "R-Type Final 3," and other stuff, are apparently still on the way. Granzella's latest live stream from a couple of weeks ago did not include a new roadmap, but there's already a new stream scheduled for the end of March, so I assume there will be some significant announcements then. My guess is that they're planning something for the game's first anniversary on April 29. So, yeah, I'm still playing this game fairly regularly. I think I am getting a little burned out, and I keep telling myself I'll take a break, but then I keep coming back to it anyway. I may need an intervention.

Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp has been delayed due to "recent world events."
To be honest, I kinda wondered if Nintendo might do this.
